Lowe’s will hold a job fair Thursday, Friday and Saturday for 150 positions at its new Barrie home improvement store, slated to open later this year on Bryne Drive.

This store will provide 117,000 square feet of retail sales space and 40,000 products. An additional 31,600 square foot garden center will offer a selection of flowers, bushes, trees and garden supplies tailored to the Ontario climate and lifestyle.
A store of this size represents an average investment in the community of approximately $23 million and could create as many as 175 new jobs, says Lowe’s.
The Barrie store is part of Lowe’s previously announced plan to open five stores in fiscal year 2008 in the Greater Toronto Area.
Other stores include Maple, which opened in February, and stores still under construction in Belleville, South Windsor and Whitby.
Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse operates more than 1,600 home improvement stores in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1946 and based in Mooresville, N.C., Lowe’s is the second-largest home improvement retailer in the world.
