Hire International Skills - Nova Scotia's First Job Fair for Newcomers
More than 350 job seekers and 35 employers are participating in the Nova Scotia province's first job fair for newcomers today (November 13th) at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel.

Immigration Minister Len Goucher says the job fair will help connect skilled workers with local employers, contributing to a stronger economy.

He says a good job is one of the biggest challenges facing newcomers and a key factor in an immigrant’s decision to settle in the province.

The job fair is organized by the province, together with the Greater Halifax Partnership, Metropolitan Immigrant Settlement Association, Halifax Immigrant Learning Centre, Pier 21 Society, Direction Emploi, Saint Mary's University, Mount Saint Vincent University and Nova Scotia Business Inc.

The employers represent sectors from aerospace, engineering and IT to financial services, manufacturing and design.
