GTA Job Fair at the Metropolitan Centre Toronto

Wednesday, March 10 at the Metropolitan Centre, 3840 Finch Ave. E. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A free job fair set for next week will give job seekers the chance to meet employers and take advantage of employment services offered by a local agency.

At a press conference on Tuesday, March 2, Scarborough-Agincourt MP Jim Karygiannis boasted The Greater Toronto Job Fair as a great opportunity for people to network with potential employers. He said the fair will help address some of the concerns he's been hearing in his riding.

"I'm a firm believer that you can use local solutions to solve national problems," he said in reference to Canada's rise in unemployment rates.

"My office has been inundated with letters from people looking for jobs, so this is why we decided to hold a job fair."

He called the community response great, with well over 20 organizations on board to exhibit at the fair, such as Toronto Fire Services, Seneca College and Sun Life Financial.

He said the aim of this fair is to not just get people jobs, but to put them on a career path.

The GTA Job Fair will also provide attendees with free resume consultation services.

Employers looking to exhibit at the fair can send an email to info@mygtajobs.ca or call 647-401-8474.
