An estimated 12,000 attendees will find genuine career opportunities and useful tips from industry leaders at the Direct Energy Centre on September 18th

The City Career Expo is Toronto's newest and most exciting employment event dedicated to helping job seekers at all stages in their career.

Set for Saturday September 18th at The Direct Energy Centre, The City Career Expo is a new style of recruiting event that will host an estimated 12,000 attendees from 10 am – 7 pm.

"There's a definite demand right now for finding new ways to research and secure genuine job opportunities as well as gain leading industry insight on career tips and advice," says Jeremy Foreshew, Event Marketing & Operations Manager with The City Career Expo. "Our goal is to create an environment that offers face-to-face networking opportunities with reputable companies that are currently hiring."

With over 75 exhibitors across a wide range of industries and sectors including several of Canada's top employers, prominent career counselors and some of Toronto's leading education and training institutes; the inaugural event is shaping up to be a career expo unlike any other.

"No matter where you are in your career, the show has something to offer," says Foreshew. "We've partnered with Canada's top employers to create an informative and engaging event that will inspire and energize your job search efforts. It's so much more than just a job fair."

Sponsors and partners include Bell Canada, CareerBuilder.ca, Metro News, the YMCA of Greater Toronto, Business Canada Ontario, Youth Employment Services, Ryerson University, the TTC, TriOS College, Money Mart, Primerica and CGI.

A highlight of the show is expected to be the exciting line-up of high-profile keynote speakers including Kevin Graff, an internationally recognized authority on retail performance; Steve Stunt, an experienced business coach and host of the syndicated radio show, 'The Entrepreneur Hour' and Ray Romard, the savvy HR veteran who currently heads-up the talent acquisition programs with Bell Canada. The City Career Expo will also feature spotlight presentations from exhibitors including Starbucks Coffee Canada, GUESS and TorontoJobs.ca.

The easy-to-navigate floor plan will feature pavilions dedicated to recruiting, career services, youth employment, volunteering, education & training and entrepreneurship. As well, an innovative online applicant tracking system will make it easier for recruiters to manage resume data and fill positions.

Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for the event starting September 3rd at www.thecitycareerexpo.com. Pre-registration gets you free access to the show and a $20 gift card courtesy of GUESS. The referral program offers you the chance to win a free Blackberry Curve from Bell Canada when you invite five friends to pre-register as well. Entrance fee, without proof of pre-registration, is $4.95.
