TELUS hiring over 200 positions in Edmonton to support Optik TV growth

Edmonton, AB – TELUS is hiring over 200 new customer service agents in Edmonton by the end of this year to support the growing demand for its all digital Optik TV offering.

Once the current hiring campaign is complete, the new recruits will join more than 3,000 TELUS team members who already call Edmonton and surrounding area home.

“Optik TV is a game-changer – the customer response has been terrific and, as a result, we're hiring in Edmonton,” said Joanne Beaton, vice-president, Customer Service. “Not only does Optik TV give Albertans a better choice about where to get their TV service, but it offers un-matched flexibility and some of the best features available anywhere in the world today. PVR Anywhere, for example, enables customers to record a show, or an entire series, on any television in their home and watch it on any other connected television. Another cool feature, Remote Record, allows customers to manage their PVR recordings from any internet-connected computer, iPhone or select Blackberries.”

As of June 30, TELUS had 228,000 TV customers, doubling its customer base over the previous year.

Edmonton is also the home of TELUS' Chief Technology Office.
